Bio-Data of Professor Y.V. Satyanarayana Prof. Y.V. Satyanarayana, born on 22nd September 1948, is a faculty member in the department of Philosophy, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He was awarded Dr. S. Radhakrishnan philosophy prize for securing first class first in M.A. Philosophy in the year 1974. He was awarded Ph. D in Philosophy in 1981. He was a U.G.C. research Fellow (1976-1980) and U.G.C. Career Awardee (1988-1991).

He was Head of the department of Philosophy, Andhra University (1998-2001), Joint Secretary, Indian Philosophical Congress (2001-2006) and presently member of the Governing Body, Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi and member of the Board of Governors, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi.

Prof. Satyanarayana published over twenty research papers in leading journals of philosophy and a book on "Marx and Gandhi: A Comparative Study of Social Philosophies." He participated in forty National and International Seminars and Conferences and presented research papers.
